He Taonga nō ngā Kaumātua, He Hononga mō te Hapori
Kaumātua is a kaupapa Māori project that honours the voices and presence of our pakeke through life story and portraiture. Rooted in manaakitanga and whanaungatanga, it draws strength from whānau, hapū, iwi, and wider communities — each adding to its mauri.
More than a book, Kaumātua is a living taonga — holding the richness, resilience, and wisdom of our elders. Through pūrākau, photography, and hui, it creates space for connection, reflection, and aroha across both Māori and non-Māori communities.
